Oboist JACQUELINE LECLAIR performs with the Vanguard Chamber Players, the Cygnus Ensemble, Ensemble Sospeso, Brooklyn Philharmonic and Speculum Musicae. She performs regularly in New York City and specializes in the study and performance of new music. Leclair has premiered many works and regularly presents classes in contemporary music and its techniques at schools such as UCLA and the Eastman School of Music, as well as at international music conferences. She has recorded for labels such as Nonesuch, CRI, Koch, Neuma and CBS Masterworks, receiving critical acclaim in particular for her premiere solo recording of Roger Reynolds's Summer Island. Luciano Berio's Sequenza VII Supplementary Edition by Jacqueline Leclair (2000) is published by Universal Edition, Vienna. Leclair teaches privately and is a faculty member at Mannes College. She is a native of Syracuse, New York, and currently resides in New York City.
